What’s So Special About South Andamans Diving?

Liveaboards in Thailand offer one of the best ways to explore the Andaman Sea, and the South Andamans provide stunning underwater scenery and some of the best scuba diving in Thailand and beyond. The dive sites on our South Andaman Liveaboard include the pinnacles of Hin Daeng (Red Rock), Hin Muang (Purple Rock), Koh Haa (including Koh Phi Phi and the Racha Islands), as well as a selection of premier dive sites on the route back to Phuket. Many of these locations are only accessible to a few boats, such as the MV Aqua Liveaboard (Dive Cove Co., Ltd), and are only open for scuba diving at certain times of the year.

While many Thailand liveaboards operate exclusively in the North Andaman, we have developed this itinerary to showcase the full variety of underwater experiences available. Although just a short distance away, diving in the South Andamans offers a distinctly different experience from our Similan Islands liveaboard, Koh Lipe liveaboard, Hin Daeng and Hin Muang liveaboard, or Myanmar liveaboard. The area features a mix of pinnacles, rock islands, walls, and sloping reefs, all home to a diverse array of soft corals and macro life. When you dive the South Andamans, you'll have the chance to experience shark diving with leopard sharks, whale sharks, and blacktip sharks, as well as encounter pelagic marine life such as manta rays.

The King Cruiser wreck is one of the most popular dive sites on our South Andaman liveaboard itinerary. This wreck, a passenger ferry that sank in 1997, is now covered in soft corals and teeming with marine life. Rest assured, all passengers and crew were safely evacuated, so it's not a ghost ship! The wreck offers plenty of nooks, crannies, and passageways for you to explore and shine your torch into, making it a thrilling dive experience.
